Hello and welcome to the BS107 course site. Here you will find notes for each week of the course. The course is assessed through a mid-term test, a final examination and a web project. Attendance to weekly 3 hour lessons is also monitored.

A. Introduction
This module is designed to ensure that students’ success in their working environment is augmented by solid basic knowledge of computers and their applications.
This knowledge will be provided by…
- Developing an understanding of computer hardware, and the part played by key components and accessories.
Ensuring that students are able to use the Internet to communicate, gather information and promote themselves and/or their business.
B. Aims & Objectives
Completion of the course will enable students to understand the use of computers in business. They will also be familiar with much of the jargon used in the computer industry.
C. Teaching Methods
Time: 3 hrs per week, using a combination of Lectures, Demonstrations and Practical Activities.
D. Assessment
Exams 70%
Project 30%
Exams will be as follows:-
Mid Semester Test (week 7) 20%
Final Exam (week 13) 50%
